The Property

This modern furnished 2 bedroom self catering renovated holiday apartment for rent in Los Cortijos, short term, overlooking Calanova Golf in La Cala de Mijas, is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday, as a base for golfers or if you are looking to explore the many treasures of the Costa del Sol.

One of the best located south facing bright 2 bedroom apartments offering an updated sun-drenched spacious 40m2 solarium terrace with fantastic breath-taking panoramic views and all day sunshine. The all-year terrace also has a covered area that benefits from glass curtains. Shade is offered with a large wooden pergola and a large collapsible parasol. There is a gas BBQ available for an extra surcharge.

The renovated and updated property consists of 2 spacious double bedrooms, the master with a Super King 180cms wide double bed and a brand en-suite walk-in shower bathroom suitable for wheelchair users, with walk-in/roll-in shower and wider door, and the second bedroom features a King Size 150cms wide double bed plus access to a new shower room with oversized walk-in shower cubicle. Please note that the double beds cannot be split.

The lounge is spacious and nicely furnished with flat screen SMART LED 65″ Samsung TV that features the latest ChromeCast dongle so you can connect any of your mobile devices to the fast unlimited Fibre WiFi and connect wireless and seamlessly to the TV. We can help you with this if you need assistance. You also have a selection of TV, series & movies in multiple languages for multiple countries. There is a ramp from lounge to terrace to aid wheelchair users.

The kitchen is fully equipped and comes with all appliances and utensils that you would expect including a dishwasher and you’ll find a washing machine outside in the separate closed utility area.

Also supplied is a private garage parking space, which directly connects with the property by means of both a serviced lift and a manual staircase. In the scenario where somebody with a disability wishes to stay at the property then they will have no issues by using the lift, and making use of the stepless single-level property. The facilities around the block are all wheelchair accessible and the pool showers have been adapted too. Please note that only the en-suite bathroom entrance has been widened & adapted for travel wheelchair users to access.

This modern luxury private residence is protected by daytime concierge security, plus 24hrs recording CCTV and external security vigilance throughout the night.

Guest Access

Guests will have access of the entire apartment plus a selection of 3 swimming pools. Additionally, adults can access the TechnoGym equipped gymnasium, the saunas, the indoor & garden jacuzzis, plus the adults only sun-deck area for sunbathers with showers. The Calanova Golf clubhouse for golfers and guests, serves food and refreshments all day. BBQ evening every Friday during the summer months.

Interaction with Guests

We shall be on hand should you require any assistance during your visit, and we’ll personally meet and greet you during your arrival too.

Also we’ll show you to the property, and orientate you with the area and explain how everything works, along with answering any questions you might have.

Our professional management company, who will help you with the check-in/check-out process, will be on call 24hrs a day for emergencies. They speak both English and Spanish.

The Neighbourhood

The Costa del Sol boasts around 320 days of sunshine and is popular with holiday makers all year round due to the wonderful climate. It has a long summer period from June until October, when it is hot but pleasant with no humidity and no rain, ideal for beach holidays. During other seasons there is plenty of sunshine, so that you can enjoy lots of outdoor activities, such as golf and tennis.

Mijas Costa is very popular with people from all walks of life, it has something for everyone, it is not difficult to see why people come back year after year.

La Cala (the creek) is a charming former fishing village. It now plays host to a wide and varied range of eateries and bars. Why not dine on the beach front in one of the popular restaurants, like the new Olivia’s Champagne and Lobster Bar and restaurant, owned by Elliott Wright. There is a Supersol, LIDL, ALDI and a Mercadona (supermarkets) and plenty of banks / ATM’s. There is also a wide range of beauty salons, and a wonderful spa facility, this is the perfect place to unwind, and pamper yourselves.

The beaches are long, sandy and well cared for, along with an upgraded beach walkway paseo and central beach square. There is a new wooden walkway running alongside the beach all the way as far as Cabopino.

Fuengirola is a short drive away from the apartment, approximately 15 minutes. Here you will find shopping, bars and restaurants. There is also a Water Park and Zoo.

Mijas Pueblo is a beautiful village, steeped in the hillside and well worth a visit. Here you will find horse & carriage rides, donkey rides, craft shops, restaurants and bars. Mijas Pueblo is a very popular visitor destination, and a short drive from the apartment. During the summer months it is recommended that guests spend an evening strolling through the cobbled streets, maybe even pop into one of the many restaurants for something to eat or drink. The restaurants are reasonably priced and the ambiance is lovely. Recommended.

If you are looking for well-maintained golf courses you will find them here, the La Cala Golf course is one of the best in the area and certainly worth checking out, along with Calanova Golf, La Noria Golf, Miraflores Golf, El Chaparral and Mijas Golf. Calanova Golf has it’s brand new modern permanent clubhouse already inaugerated, complete with the Michael Campbell Academy, driving range and practice green, modern restaurant, gymnasium, spa and also the largest Pro Shop in Spain.

There are plenty of recreational activities to choose from in the area. The Mijas Hipodrome can be easily found by driving into La Cala and following the simple directions.

Benalmadena is a fairly short drive away, visit the pretty harbour where you can take boat trips as well as visit the famous Aquarium. There is also a telecabin chair lift for those of you wanting to take in the breathtaking views of the famous coastline from the Mijas mountain range.

If you fancy something a bit different then why not take a day trip to Morocco these can be easily arranged through us. These trips are by fast ferry from Tarifa and are comfortable and the crossing only takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Getting Around

There is a direct regular new electric train link from Málaga to Fuengirola, which passes and stops at the Airport.

The regular 220 bus runs all day regularly between Fuengirola and Marbella, and the local stop is La Cala de Mijas, where you can grab a taxi up to the development. The fittest guests can walk if they really enjoy their fitness, but it’s not recommended.

A rental car is highly recommended and essential for elderly or disabled guests and families.

Other Things to Note

Please note that this apartment is in a fantastic location, although it is a good downhill 45 minute walk, in order to reach the local amenities. Of course it only takes less than 5 minutes by car to La Cala de Mijas.

Great views of the Calanova golf course for golfers and only a short distance from the Calanova Golf clubhouse offering refreshments and snacks, plus BBQ’s every Friday and Happy Hour between 4.30pm to 6.30pm everyday in summer.

Strictly no smoking, except for outside on the terrace using the appropriate ashtrays. Beware of starting a careless fire! Prevention is better than cure.

The owner recommends that you take out adequate travel insurance before traveling. In case of accident occurring whilst at this holiday home is the responsibility of the holiday guest, not the owner or managing agent.

This property is wheelchair and disabled friendly. There is a lift in the apartment building along with ramps in the communal areas providing wheelchair access, along with a ramp from the lounge to the terrace. The pool and gardens are also adapted for disabled and wheelchair access.

Once your booking has been confirmed / payment received (or at least in good time before your arrival) we will contact you to make arrangements to meet you at the property, or in the local town, La Cala de Mijas. You will be shown around the apartment with everything explained clearly by our local property managers (who speaks fluent English and Spanish!) and your questions about the local area / facilities can be answered. We want you to enjoy your holiday!

The property managers will be on hand to answer any questions or in case of any emergency or enquiry. Unlimited FREE Fibre Optic WiFi and multi-language TV is included in the rental price, along with a Google Firestick HD dongle.

A car is strongly recommended for this property as it is located 4kms up the hill.

    Close to Golf course (Calanova Golf), the beach, and still nice quiet surroundings, this is the perfect apartment to rent for a fantastic holiday.
    Very well equipped, lots of space in the rooms and well decorated. A spectacular view from the terrace, where the sun is located most of the day.
    In the gardens there are different pools that you can use, and a new area with jacuzzi, showers and sunbeds. Besides that a sauna facility and of course – magnificent garden surroundings with lots of beautiful flowers, palms etc.
    Underground you will have access to a garage space where you can take the elevator or stairs directly to the apartment.
    The apartment is located close to good restaurants, shopping facilities and is based on the Costa Del Sol where there´s a lot to offer when you visit southern Spain.
    My highest recommendation, If you´re looking for “a slice of heaven” then this is the place to be!

    Indeed, this south facing apartment has been very popular with the sun drenched new glass fronted terrace, showing off the panoramic Mediterranean, golf, garden, pool & mountain views to their best, no matter where you’re sitting.
